Well past use by date as stated up front. Can freshen up in oven. Would like to access Sardinian bread in nz as it is delicious. Thought this product might work but sadly no.

Hi Katherine, we're sorry to hear your thoughts about the Sardinian wafers. We're glad you freshened the wafers in the oven. Of course as it said in the product description they are past their best before date, which is only an indication. We will check if there are remaining the products at our end - if the quality is poor, then we will remove them for sale, thanks for letting us know as we do check the quality. If they're still ok then we reduce the price and advise customers in the description as you saw. The last thing we want to do is send products out that don't taste ok. However the best before dates are only an estimate and we find it is as much a tool for the suppliers to keep wholesalers ordering as it is an indication of quality which is normally well short of the actual life quality of a product.
Its a shame you didn't see the product at the beginning of the shipment, there may be more.
